Advanced awards for innovation in safety
The new C-MAX and Grand C-MAX are equipped with technologies that have previously received Euro NCAP Advanced Awards, the highest given by Europe's leading independent safety organisation. The awards recognise only the most advanced avoidance, crash and post-crash technologies available in a car and include Active City Stop, Lane Keeping Aid Driver Alert.

Ford SYNC with Emergency Assistance: can call for help even if you can’t
An important and potentially life-saving part of Ford SYNC is Emergency Assistance. In the unlikely event of an accident, where the airbag is deployed or the fuel-pump deactivated, the technology can automatically make a direct call to the Emergency Services for you. You can choose to stop the call, or talk to those services if you need to. Crucially, the system will supply vital information, such as your GPS coordinates, even if you are unconscious.*
*Ford Emergency Assistance operates in over 30 European countries.
This feature works when paired with a compatible connected mobile phone that is with you when an airbag is deployed (excludes knee airbags) or a sensor that registers a crash deactivates the fuel pump. Text function and Emergency Assistance not supported by all European languages.
Confidence in challenging conditions
The car is equipped with an Electronic Stability Programme (ESP), which incorporates a range of technologies designed to keep you in control. Sensors detect any sudden changes in steering, braking, or vehicle behaviour that may cause you to lose control, and then ESP precisely adjusts the speed of each individual wheel, making your car more stable and helping to prevent skidding. ESP features include Hill Start Assist, Emergency Brake Assist and Electronic Brake Prefill.
Pre-Collision Assist operates throughout the whole speed range detecting moving objects. If it detects that a collision is probable and there is no reaction from the driver, it sends a visual and acoustic warning message to the cluster and then applies medium braking forces.*
*Available as part of the optional Adaptive Cruise Control.
